Easy Ways to Setup Hotmail Account with Outlook 2010

The tutorial will help you setup your Hotmail account with Outlook 2010. To configure Hotmail in Outlook 2010, a few simple steps are required to follow that you can do without any technical support, just read our step by step procedures and follow them. You will create an account in Outlook 2010 in a few minutes. Follow the steps:

Open Outlook 2010 after installation

If you are opening the Outlook 2010 first time, a window will automatically open, asking you to setup your mail account. Choose yes and go head.

If you are not opening the Outlook 2010 first time, a window of email account setup will not open automatically, you have to open it manually. Follow a few simple procedures to open the email setting wizard. First click on ‘File’ menu, move the cursor to ‘Info’ option and select ‘Add Account’.

A new wizard will open asking you for auto account setup, here you choose “manual configure server setting or additional server types” and then click ‘Next’ button

The next wizard will allow you to choose your email service and you will select ‘Internet E-Mail’ and then ‘Next

Finally you will reach to the internet email setting window, but before creating your account, it is important to enable POP in Hotmail.

  • Start your Hotmail account
  • Click on the Configuration button
  • Choose More mail settings
  • Choose Connect Devices and apps with POP
  • Enable POP

Now you manually setup your Hotmail account with Outlook 2007. Enter name, email address, choose the account type, write down incoming mail server and outgoing mail server, go to ‘More Settings’ and choose “Outgoing Server” to select the option “use same settings as my incoming mail server”. Visit ‘Advanced’ wizard to set “Incoming Server”, “Outgoing Server” and encryption connection, press OK to finish the Hotmail account setup.
